Outra banda que eu tenho ouvido muito e recomendo é a norueguesa Pale Forest. Não sei definir o estilo das músicas do álbum Exit Mould, é algo entre Rock-Pop-Alternativo com pianos, teclados e elementos eletrônicos, embora a pose deles pareça metal. Posso dizer que é uma banda com um doce - quase infantil - vocal feminino (muitas vezes dobrado com vocais masculinos) que está abrindo os shows do The Gathering, o que também não quer dizer que seja no mesmo estilo. Na verdade a música que estou escutando agora me lembra Smashing Pumpkins...mas outras já me lembraram Lacuna Coil, Portishead, Six Pence None The Richer e até um pouco de The Gathering.
A maioria das músicas começam calminhas, embora às vezes fiquem tensas, como These old rags e The pale suit of drunkenness, ou mais enérgicas como Stigmata. Além disso vale também destacar o título de uma música feliz, bem criativo a meu ver - A perspective on certain matters according to x. - e a letra de Mr. Trenchcoat.
